- Who owns Bamboo Insurance?
- Bamboo Insurance Services (the MGA) was founded in 2018 and is majority-owned by White Mountains Insurance Group (NYSE: WTM), which announced its strategic investment in Bamboo in 2023. White Mountains owns the largest stake; Bamboo's founders and management hold the remainder. White Mountains also has an ownership interest in Bamboo Ide8 Insurance Services and the broader Bamboo platform.
- Is Sutton National the same company as Bamboo?

- Who actually pays my Bamboo claim?
- Sutton National, as the underwriting carrier, is on the risk and pays covered claims out of its reserves. Bamboo handles claims administration on Sutton's behalf. When pursuing bad-faith remedies in California, both Bamboo (for claim-handling conduct) and Sutton National (as policy issuer) may be named.
- Is White Mountains the same as Berkshire Hathaway or another major insurer?
- No. White Mountains Insurance Group is an independent NYSE-listed holding company headquartered in New Hampshire (originally spun off from Fund American Companies). It is not part of Berkshire Hathaway, Travelers, or any other large multi-line insurer.
